I guess I have lurked long enough and I have a question I can't find the answer to I could probably ask my teacher but here I am... What are the dances in Latin 5 dance comps? We have watched the big comps on TV but can't remember and it has been bugging me since we rewatched "Strictly Ballroom the other day. I would love to know which dances are included in ten dance as well.

DH and I have just started ballroom and are doing well enough to not look too ridiculous on New Year's at a club party. We did round dancing many years ago but thought we would like to learn to use the moves we learned there without a caller telling us what to do

Latin 5: Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive
Standard 5: Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Quickstep.

Those 10 together make up International 10-dance.

There is also American 9-dance:
Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo
Smooth: Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango.
