Current Trends at Dances

I don't have much experience with dancing outside of my local area so I'm wondering how much the trends here are reflective of those of other areas; those being:

Generally more women then men at the dances.

Big fluctuations in attendance from week to week; season to season.

Music format heavy on Tango, Foxtrot and Waltz; less so on others.

One age group more dominant - though this has evened out here in the last few years; before it seemed like mostly those age 65 and above.

I'd be interested in the comparisons and contrasts.

"Wherever you go, you represent the team. You will talk like, you will look like and you will act like the most dignified professional in your hometown" - Vince Lombardi to his players.
