Hi! My name is Katherina and I'm 18 years old. I do ballroom dancing and also I'm a graduated Square and Round Dancer. I'm member of an international folklore dance group; we do basically everything, Israel, Slovak...
I'd like to get in touch with other dancers of my age to discuss.

I think that's the point: By all means have dance-related chit-chat on DanceTalk, but don't send messages by e-mail, but share with everyone (oh my God, sounding like a priest or somethin'), ON THE FORUM.
We're looking forward to hearing more from you, even if it's not a "high-class question" (whatever you mean by that). The good thing about this forum is that, even if you ask a question that other people think is rather stupid (snobs!), it doesn't matter because they usually won't know who you are in real life. And there'll always be people defending you when you're insulted (look at the thread "American or Int'l Style?" in the ballroom section).

Welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry, but I don't understand where the problem is. You say you can post a message to ANY dance-related topic.
My problem is that I'm no professional dancer, so I don't have high-class questions, and I'm not in love with any particular dance, I just like lots! I'd like to discuss with other dancers of my kind in this forum and I don't see what's wrong with that. I though this was the idea of DanceTalk??

For future refernce, we actually prefer that dance-related conversations be continued in our public forum, to encourage active participation from as many members as possible. This forum is here for the benefit of everybody, but it's useless if everybody simply carries out their conversations privately.

The only time you should turn conversations away from the forum is when the subject matter becomes personal or is unrelated to dancing.

Thanks,
Danctalk
