I've never been to a class before...what type of shoes should I wear? I was thinking...sneakers...but don't dancers wear like heels...or slippery shoes? What type of clothes do you dance in? Can I wear jeans?

Thanks!

Jen

Since dancing is classy as well as fun, I try to wear something that's clean, ironed, and that will wick away perspiration. Always wear sleeves. Nothing is as gross as having to take dance hold with a lady who's dripping sweat from her bare underarms.

When I take from a top-level pro, I wear a chiffon skirt and bodysuit (I'm a lady).

When I take a lesson as man (I'm also a pro who needs to learn both parts), I wear slacks and a blouse and sweater.

I have a couple of pairs of dance shoes that I alternate wearing, depending on the height of my instructor/partner.

Have fun,

laf
