What is the foot work for jive chasse ?
My teacher told me inside edge ball of my left foot (I was doing left chasse), then ball flat of right foot, than ball flat of left foot. However she also told me on the second step, ball of left foot and ball of right foot both are up at the same time for brief moment. Please help.
Second problem, I sometimes lose track which foot I was on, I tried to dance to slower music, any suggestion. Thanks !

I have a suggestion for your second problem. I you dance a normal step, you must stand on that foot, but of course not if you are dancing a tap for example. If you really stand on a foot, it's not possible to take the next step with that same foot. With dancing you never have to think about which foot you have to use for the next step. It goes automaticly. Don't think about feet, just listen to the music and dance
With standing on a foot I mean that you can lift the other foot without falling. I know that it is not always easy when you're dancing at a fast tempo, but you do have to try.

I would like to correct: the ISTD-book says: "usually Ball-Flat. ... at slow tempi Ball-Flat on each step, or Ball-Flat, Ball, Ball-Flat. ... At faster tempi Ball, Ball, Ball-Flat." Just in case someone gets the question on an exam . My criticism is that the second step will earlier tend to be ball than the first step, because it is shorter.

For the rest, I learnt to more or less draw the 2nd step foot towards the 1st step foot; thereby the 2nd step leg remains more straight. Is this correct ?
