In watching several competitions (all in US) I have begun to wonder...just what is the difference , or shall I say what is supposed to be the difference between smooth and standard gowns? The styles are shifting (as always) but what is the fundamental difference? Is there one?
I'm sure that students get away with switching the styles, but what's the appropriate dress when it really matters?
Please help this latin dancer to figure out these confounding smooth/standard details!
