I am putting in a new living room floor. I would like it to be danceable, and homey. I am thinking about a Berber rug. I would like any comments or feedback. Thanks. tombreathe@aol.com
Berber rug? What kind of dancing will you be doing?;)
I agree with curvedfeather about Pergo floor. I have the floor for 4 and half years now and am very satisfied with it. If you are handy, you can install the floor by yourself that is what I did, all 14x43 area. The Pergo floor danced just like the wooden floor and almost maintainence free. It costed me $4.00 per SQ FT for all neccesary materials then, but I heard the price had gone down on Pergo. At the time for the professional installer to do it would had costed $4.00 per SQ FT. for labor alone. I would think the installation fee will remain about the same today. But I have seen on TV locally that they advertized the Pergo @ $2.00 a SQ FT. now.
One thing for caution, if your living room is near kitchen, bathroom or laundry room where there is a concern for water leak that might happen someday, then reconsider it. My friend's father visited him and used the dishwaher with laundey detergent
which cuased the water damage to his Pergo kitchen floor that he needed to replace all. Same damage would happen with the laminated wood floor as well, I am sure.
