Nice little waltz variation, Jonathan! I believe I have seen it before - back in the spring, but I do not remember the back whisk ending. One caveat to mention: this figure doesn't exactly move in "line-of-dance", so it's important to take it toward the middle of the dance floor. The first time I tried something like this ( at "The Ballroom of Sacramento" - a great place to dance!), I started in the fast lane, and we were about halfway through the pattern when my partner clutched my arm, panic in her eyes. I turned to see a pack of about a dozen couples bearing down on us at a rapid rate. Needless to say, I instinctively remember that moment whenever I move counter or oblique to LOD. Anyway, that standing spin is really fun at any speed!
