Latin dances

I am wondering what the relation is between pasadoble (hope I spelled it correctly) and flamenco. I realize flamenco isn't a "latin dance" but I am aware there are some similarities with music, style and expression of these dances. I would like some more input on these dances and their similarities as well as some technical info on pasadoble! Thanks.

The orginal Paso Doble (Ballroom) describes a fight against a bull. He is the proud torero and she symbolices his Capa. A lot of the figure material descibed in the blue IDSF latin techique book are depends on this "old" style, e.g. Chase Capa is the moment when the torero moves his Capa when the bull is attacking, or promenade spins shows the moment when the torero arrives at the Corrida and proudly swings his Capa.

Now the Paso Doble is more and more affected by several spanish dances like flamenco and so the lady is not claimed only to the role of the Capa.

The technique of Latin dancing have changed very much the last ten years. So if you are interessted in Paso Doble I can recommend you to watch an australian movie , "strictly ballroom". a very interessting and true story.
