Where to dance--socially?

My husband and I have just started to learn ballroom dancing. We would like to know where the best places are in the Connecticut
area to put our work to practice? In other words, can anyone suggest a nice place to actually go dancing--socially?

Thanks so much for your suggestions.

Anywhere in CT is fine--it's a small state.
We're willing to travel to NY, RI, or MASS --
if the need be.

For Dave L.:
Your info is great, but Thursdays are not
very good for us. I would be interested in
any place you know of for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Thanks again.
