My wife and I are looking for such a place for our 25th anniversary in December. We'd like some instruction opportunities during the day, with dancing in the evening. Any suggestions are appreciated. Fee free to respond to altondunc@aol.com.

Concerning the Cloister at Sea Island, it is a great place. The instuction is very good. They have a Summer's End Dance Romance Aug 27 - Sept 4 that features lots of instruction by day and dancing in the evening. This however, is bad timing for us.
We went to the December Big Band Festival there in December, but we weren't real thrilled with the band - too much foxtrot over and over. Therefore, we're looking for something different this December.

I'm looking for resorts that have a dance floor and music that's possible to ballroom dance to but not places where you're in workshops most of the time. I want the type of place where you can eat good food, have a comfortable room, play tennis, sit by the pool or on the beach, etc. and then do a little dancing in the evening.

I'm not sure this is what you are looking for but you can try Ballroom Vermont at 800-242-8785. It's a ballroom dance camp.

Sorry, I can't help you but I do agree a list of such places is long overdue. We live close to Greenbriar but never attempted to go there because of the cost.
