are you talking about the learning? the training? the practicing? the competing? Which aspect of dancing are you talking about? In my experience, all of it is so different but when put together it makes up the whole. There are many things to know about each different aspect.

I would advise you to attend a competition, normally the professionals compete on friday/saturday evening. It will cost you a few bucks, last comp i attended the fee was $50. You will have to experience it before you can really write about it.
Next comp i know about is ohio star ball, in columbus,oh and it will be next week.

its an art not a sport.
you need a well trained body with fast muscles and a fine and exact movement, but this body is only a tool. a tool to move on and enjoy music and the partner.

some people do it only as sport but this is only "dance arobic"....and it look like this, no rythm, no fun, no soul.
