Wow! Thanks! Actually we do change turn after every four (or more? or less? I lost count ) rotations, but I also think it has to do with my partner "dragging" me around. He has several partners, so he can't adjust his lead (which is actually very strong) to me, especially since I'm not his primary partner. I hardly do anything out of my own strength because I don't get the chance to Maybe that has something do to with it too?

Hm, this is easier than favorites. Viennese Waltz! I do it ok, but it's so blasted difficult...and tiring...and frankly, scarey when you're on a dance floor with a bunch of other people!

ok...... a few of my least favorites..

american waltz- especially SLOW american waltzes! Gods I feel like I'm about to fall asleep when I'm doing them.

mambo/salsa: I actually love these dances but I have such a hard time finding the right beat so I just kind of do my thing and hope that I'm on the right timing.

Merengue: again, very boring.

samba: Normally I would like this dance but it's again, I find it a little boring plus when I was learning it, it was drilled into me so hard that it killed all the fun in the dance for me.

I think those are all my least favs.

For Foxtrot to be enjoyable at all, you need to be able to take long, long strides, and you also need the ability to have absolute control over your center, so that you can glide across the floor. Stomping through a foxtrot or a slow waltz is very unpleasant.

Hmm, well, I guess that I don't have a least favourite, because all the dances beside my "top 4" (which changes by the week, btw, haha) all rank on #5 Buuuut, if I had to pick one: Viennese Waltz! Because it makes me dizzy!

Merengue is probably my least favorite dance simply because it lacks variety, pizzazz, and that certain je ne sais quoi the other dances have. It is however a great conversation dance for socials. It's easier to carry on a whole conversation while dancing Merengue than it would be dancing Viennese Waltz, I suppose.

You should talk to him about that, he should be able to adjust his lead and not drag you. He may be feeling he has to drag you because you're not doing enough. It's usually a two sided problem. I had (and still have sometimes) the same problem for a while - my partner carried me around because he felt it was the only way it was going to work. For us, it got better when I focused on putting in much more power and he remembered to let me do so.

Mambo is definitely my nemesis. It's not so much the dance - I have the hardest time hearing the rhythm of the music.

Zweifacher is my main nemesis.

But in the ballroom dances, Samba, mainly because I haven't done much with it.
