Many times when you are learning the moves you need speed via music to share it. Often when you are unsure of your pattern there is no way to relate to the music. If you know your patterns cold then choose only one and feel the music. You will be better off hearing the beat in ChaCha. The very reason salsa music is so exciting to listen to, is it has several drummers doing different things at the same time. Club chacha has a similar situation but fewer drums. Teaching chacha's are clarified music so that you can hear it.
Find the thud in themusic continue beating, feel the heaviest look for it to return 4 thusd(beats, counts) later. That is what we call "ONE" or the "down beat." Depending on the beat your teacher is teaching on you then have to prepare to move your foot to land when the that thud is heard. Good luck it took me 2 months to learn my feet before I even had a moment listening to the music.j.Ï c
