When advanced dancers dance they must hear the music first before they can interpret it. This is wonderfully evident at the professional competition level. To start on the beginning of the S of Slow then you would be anticipating the music. When we first teach beginners this is waht they relate to so we will start there. To dance this way also demands your partner be of expert level in follow so that she can sense your weight transfer and not block the path you have chosen. Please don't let this be an excuse to dance off time you will still need to complete whatever you have choisen within the interval of a SLOW or QUICK.
