how to learn dancing cheap

Thanks to all who replied. And yes, I'm dancing as a lead. BTW, I just found this link:

the bottom line says college students pay $30 for a 55min private lesson! That is the cheapest rate I've seen for private instructions. Perhaps I should find some excuse to go back to college and then take this offer

Newbie,
I am fairly new to dancing as well and in the same boat. I live in Seattle, and take lessons at Jay and Lynn's just north of seattle. They offer group lessons but usually small groups under ten. After you get throught the basic course they then offer courses in technique if you decide to continue on. I have enjoyed it its reasonably priced as well. I am sure you can find their number in the phone book.
