Couldn't say that I have danced in many parts of the world. But every trips I took to Taiwan, I tried to manage as many dancing in those big ballrooms as possible. One of my favorite ballroom in Taipei is "Astar" which has a 60x100 floor. $2.50 admission fee for morning session which usually has some competitors practicing their routines and teachers teaching their students. There is a lot of space to dance and I'd never failed to find a lady to partner with. Afternoon session is $3.75, but could get crowded at times. I avoided the very crowded evening sessions though.
In Taiwan, I also took the advantage of reasonable lessons @ $120.00/a book of 10 half-an-hour lessons with professional A champions.
On my last trip we danced in the similar ballrooms in cities of Taichung and Hwalian, had equally enjoyable experience.
Dancing in Star ballroom and Lai-Lai ballroom in Monterey Park, Califonia gives me the sensation of dancing in orient, as 99% of dancers are asians.
