He will only be able to dance one level below what he has already competed in. This means that you will be skipping your silver and gold and full bronze development time in order to compete with him. Is he more important than becoming an accomplished dancer? do you wish to pretend to be champoionship level without the previous years of physical development. Over the years I have seen many who rush too fast they want more steps, more freedom without having developed a clear foundation. Like ballet dancers many hours musst to be spent at the bar doing warm up exercises in the dancesport world that is the Bronze silver and gold level competitions. Take your time please and enjoy the journey that is dance. If you don't have a partner now you can always satisfy your competitive desires without risking looking foolish on the floor with a good competent Pro/Am teacher
Have fun, This is for you. j.
