re: silver foxtrot - a separate dance?

Trot is trot; however, I strongly agree that they seem very diffent and I have often thought that they are like two different dances because Bronze is primarily SSQQ, very subdued rise and lowering, and as already mentioned, lots of closing of the feet which doesn't nearly move around the floor as much as silver(advanced) trot which is primarily SQQ, has a little more rise, and due to the continuity (passing of the feet)definitely takes off around the floor. Mixing is fine, but when dancing with an advanced lady I stick with SQQ. Just my preference. Have fun what ever you do!!!
