You should talk to him about that, he should be able to adjust his lead and not drag you. He may be feeling he has to drag you because you're not doing enough. It's usually a two sided problem. I had (and still have sometimes) the same problem for a while - my partner carried me around because he felt it was the only way it was going to work. For us, it got better when I focused on putting in much more power and he remembered to let me do so.

Mambo is definitely my nemesis. It's not so much the dance - I have the hardest time hearing the rhythm of the music.

Zweifacher is my main nemesis.

But in the ballroom dances, Samba, mainly because I haven't done much with it.

Yeah, I do need to put much more power into it. We don't have any problems dancing an English Waltz, Tango, Quickstep or Slowfox for that matter. I'm used to the size of his steps (he's 1 ft taller than me... ), but since I'm being careful with the Viennese, I suppose I'm holding him back stepsize-wise So he drags me along, haha. I'll ask him to slow down a little, until I'm ready to take bigger steps
