Katherina - Sorry, I am not exactly a young dancer but I would like to ask you a question. Is the square dance that you perform the same as the square dance that "country" folks do, where someone basically vocalizes the steps? I am a ballroom dancer but just like you I like variety. I also live in rural area and would like to join the folks in my area and have some fun, instead of going to the city all the time and ballroom dance. Square dancing and clogging is actively danced in my area.
