I have students over 60 who have just begun to dance. I tell them up front not to expect to achieve a high proficiency level in all rhythms of dance. I further tell them to select a rhythm that appeals to them and put more effort into that aspect. To master all dance rhythms is a pipe dream that most beginners come in the door with but is is a big let-down to hold on to that thinking too long.

hi there, don't you worry. it's all a matter of attitude and nothing else. you are pretty young to learn dance and your talk about your past being a reason for your apparently pathetic situation suggests that you just need to change your attitude!! cheer up and start staying fit. the youg girls in your class are doing so well coz of their flexibility and fitness which you also can have once u start taking control of the situation. do a lot of stretching exercises and concentrate on posture and frame. the steps can always be learnt later. have a mirror in your practice room and work on yourself and i'm sure u will find a difference in a short while. good luck to you.

Thank you everyone for all your reply. Sometimes I do forget that the reason I learn dancing in the first place is to have fun, Thanks everyone for remainding me
