We are always drilled on the ladies steps as well as our own or are asked questions like how many Pivots does the man have, and how many does the lady have.Therefore we give the lady time to do her exra Pivot This also goes for the other studio which is Latin, where very often we go through the basic movements of the ladies steps to music and vice verser. Its a lot easier to do this in Latin where we can line up across the floor or in files. This is all done solo, the modern also.

Don, sounds like you have grown up and realized the need to take back your earlier foolish statement that:

Obiously you are realizing that an awarness of the other part is in fact a key guide to understanding your own tasks!

If that was all you had said, we would not be having an argument.

Instead, when I had recommended that you can understand the difference between the variety of actions all described only as "TH" by considering what the other partner is doing during them, you had responded:

It is that statement which I take exception to, particularly in the way that it was posted in response to my recommendation that you consult the other person's part for additional guidance. And it is that statement which you yourself have seemed to contradict in later posts.

That is precisly the detail I wanted you to acknowledge when I called your attention to the picture. If you aren't going to look at that, do us all a favor and don't look at them at all.

It is the foot of primary importance at this point, as it is the foot/leg sending the body weight. The moving leg is entirely passive here.

The weight should not be split here! Even if you believe in split weight at mid-stride, this is NOWHERE NEAR MID-STRIDE. You must not have ANY weight in the moving foot (not even it's own weight) when it still has the majority of its travel yet to accomplish.
