re: Swing/jive counts

Just a simple answer.....

There is no jive music with the beat values 3/4 1/4 1. All jive songs are 2/3 1/3 1 or 1/2 1/2 1. Almost every musician can tell you that. You are dancing to the music so you have to dance 2/3 1/3 1 or 1/2 1/2 1 but never 3/4 1/4 1. Samba music has the beat values 3/4 1/4 1 in it.
Try to dance a jive to slow samba music and you will soon find out that you never dance a jive with a 3/4 1/4 1 timing. It feels very strange.
Can you give me just one good jive song which has the beat values 3/4 1/4 1?
So they must be wrong for over 27 years. They should listen to musicians.

Kind regards,

Fred
