?59-60 Arthur Murray?s (Records) taken from the dance sheet included with the
Records ?
Pachanga is a Latin?s interpretation of many American steps, both old and new. The
Pachanga steps are taken from such dances as the Shag, Truckin?, Suzie-Q, Charleston,
Jitterbug, Conga and Cha Cha. Whereas many people use a slight hop, reminiscent of
the Shag, most Latin?s use their natural style which has a slight hip movement. This
is obtained by doing all steps with the weight well back on the heels and starting
each step without immediately shifting the weight to it.

Pachanga Swing Step - may be repeated several times in succession.

Man?s Part
Count; 1-and, 2-and
1. Step to left with left foot.
?And? -- On the count of ?And? turn your body slightly to your right and tap right
foot next to left, no weight on right.
2 Step to right weight right foot.
?And? -- As you turn slightly to your left, tap left foot next to right, no weight on
left.
Repeat.

Woman?s Part
Start by stepping to right side with right foot.
Style: After you have mastered the Swing Step in time to music, you can vary the
styling of the step by hopping slightly instead of a plain step. Continue to tap as
described.

Pachanga Conga Step - may be used in partnership or open position and should be
repeated two or four times.

Man?s Part
Count: 1, 2, 3, 4, or Side, cross, side, kick.
1. Step to left with left foot.
2. Cross right foot over left.
3. Step to left with left foot.
4. Kick right foot diagonally forward, heel down.
Repeat same pattern starting to right with right foot.

Woman?s Part
Start by stepping to right side with right foot.
Style: Take small steps. Accent the kick which can be taken with heel touching the
floor or with foot slightly raise.
