No. WCS is alive and well. Although highly interpretive and flexible for the experienced dancer, there exists syllabi codifying the "Standard" figures, such as the United Country Western Dance Counsel's (UCWDC) WCS syllabi. The Annual Chicago Classic (https://thechicagoclassic.com/schedule/) showcases top dancers from across the country while providing workshops from beginner to advanced.
