I admire my instructors, but I know I want more. Does anyone know where and how I can start looking up a variety of instructors? I am a healthy, young, and semi-retired dancer, and I still have a lot of passions left for improving. My wings are ready, but where to?

If you find a comp nearby, you might be able to find an instructor from farther away than might normally be available to you. Often dancers will give private lessons at comps. You just need to have a reason for asking that person...are they especially good at something you have questions about? Then just focus on that one thing in the lesson. It's best if you make the arrangements ahead of time to make sure you get scheduled.

First take into account where you live, how far you want to travel, and how good do you want to be. One thing you can do is find an International Dance Directory and scope out all the teachers in your area. Perhaps there is a teacher close by that you were not aware of. Or go to a competition in your area and check out all of the teachers there. Or just let us know where you are and what styles you want to concentrate on and we can give you suggestions. We all have a certain amount of fondness for our teachers, but remember.. their job is to help us grow...and if you feel like you are ready to explore a bit more then go for it!

Thank you for the websites. I now have more options and ideas to pursue my joy and passion in a productive way. Before letting disatisfaction disturb me, I should keep going with PRACTICE AFTER PRACTICE and trials-and-errors.

Belle 1, and Ms. Larinda McRaven, thank you for your responses. I will be cooking this urge that is to learn one or two or three points that make a lady dancer really shine. Even one knowledge and grasp of it will separate my dancing from simply moving around. I would like to find an instructor who can help MY body line.

I recall a message mentioning a camp in Las Vegas several weeks ago. I am wondering if anyone had the experience there? Any comments to share??? Is there a camp elsewhere?
