Are there any good instructional videos that teach Samba routines? As a male dancer I would like to study some various Samba routines and create one myself that is very leadable and fun.

Hi, Cal:

You should thank James. He spent endless hours creating such a website that many dancers use all the time. If you click on links(red) to the earlier years you will find some easier routines. Also many other part of James' website have a lot of valuable dance infos too.

My focus is International samba. Since I danced this type of samba with my strong dance partner,
and I usually do shadow dancing in my samba practice, let me give you my favorite routines for this style
of samba, one for each level..

Basic International Samba

Reverse Basic Movement--Samba Walks in PP--Reverse
Basic Movement--Reverse Turn--Whisks to L and R--
Samba Walks in PP--Corta Jaca--Samba Walks in PP--
Whisks to L to R--Botafogos in Closed Hold

Intermediate International Samba

Whisks to L to R--PP samba walks with side samba walk ending--Crisscrossing Bota Fogos--Crisscrossing Voltas in One Hand Hold With Lady's
Inside Turn in the Middle of It

Advanced International Samba

Whisks to L to R--Advanced Promenade Run--Stationary Samba Walks in PP--Rolling Off the Arm--
Reverse Roll--Back Rocks to Plait--Change to R
Shadow--
Cruzados Locks in R Shadow--Botafogos with Hand
Change--Crisscrossing Voltas in Open Challenge

Expert International Samba

Reverse Roll--R Shadow Volta Roll--Maxixe in R shadow--
Crisscrossing Voltas in R Shadow--Bota Fogos
in R Shadow--Progressive R Shadow Roll--R Shadow
Lasso Roll

I assume that you don't know all the figures but
this should help.

Thanks Keh. Your response was more than I hoped for. I don't recognize the names of some of the moves but I can get those from videos of Samba. But now I have some recommended routines and I am truly grateful for your help.
