Reggae-music has its typical steady rhythm, inviting to move ones body.

However, I do not know of a dance specifically related to reggae-music, as there is e.g. to salsa or argentine tango-music ?

Does anyone know of a partner reggae-dance ?
What other dance would you do to reggae-music ? Salsa, quickstep, swing, ... ?

Does anyone know of a (popular) line dance to reggae-music ?

Not to my knowledge. It's pretty difficult to lead a partner while rolling a joint.

My suggestion is to dance this one by yourself. Or if you do dance with a partner, don't try to lead... just flirt and have fun. I think it's more in the spirit of the culture and the music to relax and get lost in the moment. Concentrating on your lead or your floorcraft is probably going to defeat this purpose.

Reggae was invented for something to dance to when you are too hot or too wasted to have to think about anything. One of the beauties of reggae is that you can never move too slowly to it and therefore anyone can dance to it, making it a great leveler. I think making such grass roots music too fancy with footwork would just ruin it's spirit. So I'd have to agree with the last poster, pour yourself a glass of rum or crack open a cold Red Stripe and relax mon and be jammin.
