I relocate from europe to US next time. May be somebody is able to tell me how competition dancing works in US ??? Do I need a membership in an organization or a danceschool ??? Are there necessary procedures to do or any requirements?

Currently I am an IDSF member and have amateur status but I have no problem to turn pro and compete Rising Star.

Thanks

Is this Andreas? If so, hello from Vanessa! We had an email "conversation" a couple of years ago about competitive Latin in the US. What part of the US are you moving to? I hope the move goes smoothly! Feel free to email me if you need any additional info about dancing here.

If you wish to compete in US as an amateur,
contact USABDA for membership, they have a website (www.usabda.org).
If you wisht to compete as a professional, contact NDCA for membership, they also have a website (www.ndca.org).
Good luck.
