Is there an organization in the U.S. that actually tests and certifies the competency of a dance instructor?
All the while I was presuming that this is the function of the NDCA when I came across a webpage in which the author claims that NDCA certification does not mean much. It is not a guarantee that a dancer had passed the minimum requirements(?) to be a teacher nor had passed a qualifying exam. by the NDCA. In fact, it goes on to say that all that one needs is to supply some information and pay fees to NDCA to become certified. This makes them more of a registry rather than a certifying body.
Any clarification is welcomed. Thanks.
