You could do a lot worse than elvis Presley's "Are you lonesome tonight" Pity about the talking in it, and it's not strict tempo - but it's very romantic

English or Viennese? My personal favorites:

English:
- Earth (Theme from "Gladiator", Casa Musica)
- Emozione (Dancelife)
- Lady Lay Down (Dancelife)
- Two Socks At Play (Theme from "Dances With Wolves", instrumental)
- Wild Child (Enya)
- Once You Had Gold (Ballroom Magic)

Viennese:
- Once Upon A December (From Disney's "Anastacia" Ballroom Swing)
- Mignonette (Casa Musica, instrumental)
- Annie's Song (Klaus Hallen)
- Que Sera (Klaus Hallen)

I highly recommend "Wild Child" and "Once You Had Gold" for EW and "Once Upon A December" for VW Hope this helped!

my three favorites are

Kiss From A Rose by Seal

and Waltz #2 and Miss Misery by Elliot Smith

The ones by Elliot Smith are a little fast but not fast enough to be v. waltz, just very fast english waltz which I prefer.

How about "Two Socks at Play" from "Dances With Wolves". It's a bit short, but probably my favorite for Waltz.

THe best waltz song I know is the cider house waltz off of cider house rules. It is by racheal portman. She is an incredible song writer. Check it out. It's way cool.

Have you ever noticed how many waltzes have melancholic lyrics - like Jim Reeves' classic "Four Walls"!?
