I 've read in the dancing tid-bit of UK dansport website the Pasodoble routine as follows:

1. Ready and Read Music! 1 to 4.
2. Sur Place 5 to 8
3. Twist Turn 1 to 8 (Laird), this is not the Twists of Gold Level.
4. Sixteen 1 to 16
5. Deplacement with Attack 1 to 4
6. Basic going back curving left 1 to 4
7. Chasses to Left (with Appel R foot, 2 down, 2 Up) 1 to 8 (end in Promenade).
8. Huit 1 to 8
9. Separation 1 to 8
10. Separation with Fallaway ending, 1 to 16

In the above, I don't know how to do Twist Turn (3rd), Deplacement (5th), basic going back curving left (6th) and chasse to left (7th).

I have a question: I ve learned a routine in which the dancer do Ecart (1-4) then Huit (1-4), so how to do Huit (1-8) in the above description?

another question: Is the any figure in Pasodoble named "Shaping".

Thank and regards,

MC

We'll probably add Paso Doble to the website, but not for a while. Hopefully in the meantime someone else will come along and describe the figures you're asking about in detail. Unfortunately I don't quite have time at the moment.

Incidentally, there is no step called "shaping". Shaping is a basic concept, such as swing, sway, hip motion, or rise & fall.

Sincerely,
Jonathan Atkinson

As far as we know about "Huit", meaning of eight (8) in France. Huit is counted 1 to 8. For man, this syllabus would be written as 1- RF fwd in PP, 2- Close LF to RF and 6 Sur Place (RLRLRL). Lady dances a cape, when man dances 6 Sur Place. You had learned Huit (1-4), may be losted 4 steps.
We hope that what we have written above is helpful.
