The site seems to have been replaced with something called ballroom-sequence.com, which appears to have zero content. What happened to the old site? I have several months of subscription left to run, so am not too happy at the discovery.

Does anyone else know anything?

I have a subscription too so will also be non-plussed if it does disappear.

It may just be the url has changed. I'll try a Google search for "christchurch sequence script library" or something, and see what comes up.

I can't find any new links through google, yahoo etc. I did find details of other script libraries but not sure if they are related to the New Zealand one I am subscibed too.

The domain expired on 3rd April but they are working on it.

I got this reply to my query
"Unfortunately, our webprovider did not renew our domain name,
as required by agreement. The original company I dealt with, has been on-sold many times, and I suppose noone in this company has a knowledge of their agreed obligations. Our site was on automatic renewal, but the new owners apparently didn't bother about that.

On Saturday, 4th April, someone successfully redirected all incoming traffic to their own site.

We have set up again on a brand new site."

The new domain is being setup at the moment and should be available in a couple of days at http://alanwright-ballroomdancing.co.nz/

(Jonathan, I don't know if I broke the rules in posting that address. If so, I am sorry, please delete it)

Thanks SocialDancer. I wish I had been smart enough to have kept the original contact address.

Unfortunately, the domain name expired through no fault of mine.

If anyone wishes to contact me ajwright@clear.net.nz I can give them a temporary address for the Script Library. As soon as the new address percolates through the system, members will be notified. Again unfortunately, members change email adddress. Again, the given email address is incorrect. So, if I cannot contact members, I leave them to contact me.

It will take from 16 to 48 hours before you can access the Script Library at our new address
http://alanwright-ballroomdancing.co.nz/.

In the interim, you can access the Script Library at: http://kiwiwebhost.intron.net.nz/~ballroom/.

So...is this library any good? Comprehensive I mean. Are the scripts very traditional or is there some innovation in the dances?

Are there many variations on any single theme? Is it directed at International alone or is there American style dance included?

I am curious.

Belle.

It depends what you're looking for. I originally subscribed to Chritchurch as I thought it might be a useful resource of scripts for old dances still used for competitions and medallists. But, in general, it wasn't, and turned out to be more a library of popular social dances. But the quality is good, and it is a cheap way of getting scripts for the new prizewinning dances, which is is now my main reason for subscribing.

I recently found some more sequence script libraries (see links below), which again are not really what I am looking for but will have their uses. The first contains many older and more obscure dances, though many of the dances there seem more innovative and suitable for advanced dancers.

Another one I found has a small selection of popular dances.
