Hi,

Thanks for all your replies.

Dance lesson is quite expensive here in this small city and it is difficult to find good professional tutors here.

regards.

Dear Len,

Thank you so much for your reply. I am an amateur ballroom dancer and have been dancing for quite a long time. I started my first lessons in the University with an american exchange student in 1982. I also took lessons with teachers from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. I mainly dance Latin and have some knowledge about ballroom dancing. I know all the figures of bronze, silver and gold level of quickstep but do not have a good and smooth amalgamation of it. So I would like to ask for some routines based on that level.

Thanks in advance.

Dingo.

Dronak feels that the routine I gave you may be too advanced for you. Since you did not give any indication of your level of skill or what you were trying to achieve I gave you a routine with the more popular open syllabus figures.

Here's a suggestion you must seriously consider:

Get yourself a copy of the following:

1. ISTD's "The Ballroom Technique"
2. Alex Moore's "Popular Variations"

Study, practice and work through the figures and some of the amalgamations in those books. There is a lot of technique that is required to execute those figures correctly. Some of it you may already know (who knows, you appear to be a person of few word). A lot is covered on discussions forums and other sources on the internet like this one. Then you can ask some specific questions, which I'm sure someone out there will be happy to answer and give you help on. I certainly would be.

It's a tall order to ask for an "advanced" quickstep routine. For it goes without saying that it takes a lot of understanding and work to actually execute that routine. Equally, it goes without saying that it would take the author (person who replies) a fair amount of work and effort to break each of those figures down for you and explain the subtle nuances of the technique let alone the basic fundamental (if you don't already have them). That's a lot to ask for. So you need to show that you are making the effort on your part.

Start by giving us more detail about what you are trying to achieve. Your two postings thus far are few on words. Is that an indication of the effort you are willing to put into things ?

Regards,
Len.
