I am currently designing an Off-Broadway show in which the main characters are training to become ballroom dancers. We are taking liberties by having the characters Foxtrot in a few scenes though the dance actually was not introduced for two more years. The problem I am having is trying to locate popular music from that era, begining of the 20 century, that is in 2/4 or a tempo/meter that would allow the dance to be performed properly. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I know of this group "Danse Libre" and one of their specalities is Rag Time era music. But I'm sure if you write to any of the groups that have links off this page, you should find someone willing to assist you out. Vintage groups love to share their passion of vintage dance and it's history.
