Best cruise ships for ballroom dancing?

We would like to take a Caribbean or Alaskan cruise which offers a lot of ballroom dancing, but don't know where to start looking. Can anyone give us some advice? Which cruise line is the best for dancing?

Thanks! Sandra

Hi Sandra:

My husband and I have taken several cruises; in fact we just came off one last October and are scheduled for another one January 19, 2003. Yahoo!!!

As far as ballroom dancing is concerned; all of them have live dance music EVERY day. Each ship has a variety of dance music from ballroom, western, pop and alternative.

The best way to answer your question is to ask you a question...are you mostly talking about smooth or latin; ballroom or West Coast Swing?

On Norwegian's Norway, the Standard Time Trio is EXCEPTIONAL. They are a group from Vancouver and will be going back aboard from January 19, 2003 until April sometime; however, because ballroom dancing is very typically appreciated by most of the guests, there is usually a couple of hours every day that plays ballroom dance music.

If you would like to write to us directly, our email is pennyndoug@attbi.com.

Speaking from second-hand information/advice only, I'd Like to add a caution to a previous response. I'd suggest you check on the particulars of the individual ship invovled. Yes, they all are suppose to have dancing, as the previous respondant indicated. But don't just go on that -- I'm told room size, number of rooms, diversity of music, times available, and other features vary greatly, even within ships of the same "line." You might try contacting the lines themselves to see what info is available about specific ships, once you've made the "destination" choice?
