Actually, there's not much I can do where the Salsa videos are concerned. Salsa is the one dance for which we don't produce our own videos. Josie Neglia does all of her own filming and producing, and we just "borrow" clips from her video series. I think she wanted to give it a sort of a nightclub look and feel, but it's true that it does make it difficult to see when converted to computer video.
But although I have no control over these videos, I beleive that Josie has since changed her set design concepts. Her latest video, Advanced Variations, is danced on a white set (almost too bright, I think).
As for our own videos: We have been filming on a set with a very neutral blue-gray background. Take a look at the Cha Cha videos to see an example of our brightness & color levels. Our Latin videos were all filmed on this set. When we film our upcoming smooth series, we may actually change to a slightly brighter color with more saturation, but we're not totally decided yet.
