To Waltz 123 and other members, please describe in detail the cuban motion on the forward basic and backward basic of the International Rumba box. What is the different between American Cuban vs Internation Cuban Motion ? Thanks !

Just remember: front to back, not side to side. It will make an amazing difference.

Keep away from any reference to american style cuban motion. It was something that the contract studios taught and it consisted of snapping the hip side to side in a sort of figure 8 motion. Almost all studios now teach the international method, even when teaching american style rhumba. The international style motion comes from the weight changes and flexing of the knees, perform this correctly and the motion is almost automatic.

The best motion comes from the bend-and-straighten of the legs as David mentions, but also incorporates the stretching and flexing of the sides of the body (shoulders still of course).
