I am President of our local USABDA chapter and DJ at our monthly dances. I try to put together a compilation of music on CD and then cue up each song after announcing the dance. I find I have bought a lot of CD's only to be disappointed. Some music is particularly hard to find, for example, waltzes. On the other hand, the Rat Pack, Frank, Dean & Sammie, are always good for finding foxtrots. Swings, Cha-Chas and Rumbas are easy. Tangos can be rare. I would like to see an ongoing exchange here of:
"This CD was good, 3 foxtrots, 2 waltzes, etc." or "Song "XYZ" by Artist from their CD "ABC" is a real good Samba." I have seen this in a few scattered topics but for me at least and probably others who DJ it would be nice to have it all in one place. I will start this off with some music I have found and see where this goes.

1. Artist - Lisa Stansfield; CD - Swing, Soundtrack from the Mpvie Swing.
This CD is not all EC Swing music, there are 2 or 3 foxtrots mixed in. 2 tracks are not danceable, but they are very short. The "Chicken Song" is a classic and cute, "Watch the Birdie" is good for a musical chairs style party game with its pauses. The music on this CD is fun and will appeal to many age groups. The movie was not bad either. *****

2. Artist - Various; CD - What Women Want, Movie Soundtrack.
There were enough foxtrots and rumbas on this CD to make it worth buying. Very danceable. Our members have liked all of the songs I have pulled off this disk for our dances. One song, "*****" would not transcend the age groups so I would leave it out. ****1/2

I do not have my play list handy for specific songs right now, but will do so later.
