CH CH Timing

Logged on to your site. Looked at Ch Ch Ch and disagree with the timing 2 3 4&1 given. Surely correct timing is 2 3 4& 1. See the difference? Least from a brit point of view the latter is correct. It is NOT CH CH CH but CHiCHi Cha.
Hope that's clear, Regards,
Lachie Macmillan

Either way writing the count is correct since they say exactly the same thing. In dance terminology the "&" and "a" counts take time away from the preceeding count number. For example, "4&" splits the "4" beat into two halves while the 1, 2, and 3 counts are full beats.

I think the count should be 1-2-3-4&. Afterall you have to count "1" before you can count "2".

To Blair - Regards. Of course 1 2 3 4& would also be correct. Assuming 1 is a hip movement and you STEP on the count of 2.
To t'other reply - nope - there is not more than one RIGHT timing for the Ch Ch CH ( or indeed most other dances) you're either right or wrong
Both Correct

In all reality, latins are much more complicated in movement style than the basic counting rythyms... However, there are two basic counting patterns, and both our correct. The difference is one "bumps" the beat. I'm not sure if any of you have heard this terminology, but that is what we call it at my dance studio..
