The Natural Promenade Turn is a type of natural pivot taken from Promenade Position. It passes briefly through closed position for a pivot, and then returns to promenade at the end of the pivot. It is taken at a corner and turns a total of 3/4 to right. It is then followed by another promenade figure moving along the new line of dance.

Starting in promenade position, the couple begins with two promenade walks. The man then turns to the right to close up to the lady, and steps side & slightly back on his left foot, while the lady steps forward on her right foot, between his feet. The couple pivots 3/8 to right, and on the last step the man steps RF forward in CBMP, lady LF side & slightly back, turning an additional 1/4. Both man and lady then place the free foot (man's LF and lady's RF) to the side, without weight, in promenade position. The timing of all 4 steps is "SQQS".

The Natural Promenade Turn is normally used to turn a corner, but can also be danced at the side of the room. The best way to do this is to add 1/8 turn overall so that the following promenade figure moves toward diagonal center.

A variation of the ending to the Natural Promenade Turn can be done where the man does not lead the lady to promenade on the final step. Instead, she remains in closed position, and the figure is followed by steps 3-8 of Rock Turn.
