The Progressive Chasse to Right is a Quickstep pattern consisting of 4 steps taken in closed position, danced to the counts "Slow, quick quick slow". It is progressive because it begins with a forward step, followed by a chasse -- side, together, then side & slightly back -- to the man's right. The lady's part is the natural opposite.

The Progressive Chasse to Right travels to the man's right, but it is a reverse, or left-turning figure. It is typically taken, as are most reverse figures, beginning with man facing diagonal to center. It can be turned either 1/4 to left, as written in the chart, or 3/8 to left. It can also be commenced facing line of dance and turned 3/8 to left.

The first step of the following pattern is taken with lady outside partner on man's right. When this step travels toward diagonal wall, it is typically the first step of either a non-turning figure (e.g. Back Lock) or a right-turning figure (e.g. Closed Impetus or Running Finish). When it travels along line of dance, this step can become step 3 of the V-6, or be followed by a Four or Six Quick Run.
